Breanna Vinson
Throughout my career, I have focused primarily on illustrating creatures and characters with personality in mind, treating them as their own individuals that have something to contribute beyond looks. Although the balance of visual appeal to characterization varies from project to project, I opt to consider both. Of the two, I have historically had a focus on creatures, whether mythical or real animals.

I am influenced largely by manga and generally the visual appeal of cute things, although I have always had an intrigue for darker subject matter. This presents itself largely with the stylistic choice heavily leaning into this more approachable avenue, whereas the deeper meaning can subvert expectation into narrative not outwardly presented by look alone.
Throughout my Illustrations I wish to invoke a sense of wonder through this more stylized aesthetic. I want the viewer to be able to connect with this more whimsical side of themselves while engaging with a story told through a singular image. A thousand words or just a few.

My main interests lie in the design of fantastical creatues, visual expression of written word, and invokcations of interest towards further exploration into a body of work. I plan to earn a B.F.A. from Columbus College of Art and Design to both grow in these areas and devlop my overall skill as an illustrator.
