Designed as a poster, a collection of mythical beasts from A-Z. Also includes a second poster with further information regarding each beast. I chose to illustrate these creatures out of my own passion for mythical beasts and unusual creatures. I wish to invoke interest in each depicted; the second poster intended to feed curiosity prompted by the first.
Process for this project included:
- Deciding upon a beast for each letter utilizing a criteria set beforehand; That no beast is allowed to take on a humanoid appearance and must be more fantastical than a normal-looking animal with a fantastical story.
- Research into each creature not only for accurate depiction, but for the accompanying informational blurbs.
- Compositional arrangements and thumbnailing of beast posing to decide flow before final application, of which considered both textual elements and illustrative elements.
